In 2023, the Frankfurt Book Fair celebrated its 75th anniversary, but its history goes back to the Middle Ages. Even back then, writings and books were traded in Frankfurt. Of course, Frankfurt also owes its reputation as a city of literature to Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, who was born here in 1749.
