Q: What is the difference between the Frankfurt Card and the Frankfurt Card basic?

The Frankfurt Card basic is a pure experience card with discounts of up to 50% on tours, round trips, museum admissions and other discounts on various activities. With the standard Frankfurt Card, you may also travel all across the city via public transport.

Q: How long is the Frankfurt Card (basic) valid?

Our Frankfurt Cards are bound to calendar days. For the Frankfurt Card, please note the closing time of the Rhine-Main Transport Association (RMV(. This is always 5 a.m. on the following day. Example: If you buy the 1-Day Card on 01st January, the card is valid for 01st January and 02nd January until 5 am. The 2-Day-Card is valid on 01st January and 02nd January and 03rd January until 5 am.

Q: Where does the Frankfurt Card apply?

The Frankfurt Card is valid within the entire Frankfurt city area including the airport (Zones 5000 and 5090) on all commuter trains (S-Bahn), subways (U-Bahn), trams, buses, night buses and regional trains.The ticket is only valid for journeys in 2nd class. There is a surcharge for travelling in 1st class.

Q: Does the Frankfurt Card (basic) have to be printed out?

No, the Frankfurt Card ( basic) does not need to be printed out. It is sufficient to present the card as a digital version.

Q: Do groups have to consider something special?

Due to the system, only one card is issued per group (max. 5 persons). All participant names are displayed on the Frankfurt Card, on the Frankfurt Card basic it is only the name of the first registered participant. The tickets are personal and non-transferable. To enjoy all the benefits of the Frankfurt Card, the group must remain together.

Q: Is it possible to combine the discounts of the Frankfurt Card (basic) with already discounted tickets (e.g. families, pensioners, schoolc hildren, severely disabled persons)?

No, Frankfurt Card discounts apply to regular admission tickets for adults. No further discounts will be granted on existing discounts.Discounted tickets may be cheaper on site from the respective service provider.

Q: Is the Frankfurt Card (basic) worthwhile for children?

Family tickets or children's fares offered by the respective service provider may be cheaper. Children up to the age of five (5) travel free of charge in the RMV area of operations and in transitional fare zones.
