The core exhibition, the initial space, which will be presented in the centre of the Museum Angewandte Kunst in 2025 and 2026, will once again ask what the New Frankfurt actually was, who the protagonists were, what ideas and role models this design movement was based on, what the core themes were and how they actually changed society, why the basis for a relationship between democracy and design lies here. In this initial space and the questions formulated there, those paths are laid out that lead to in-depth exhibitions in the house itself, to partner institutions and to the RhineMain region; and ultimately into the event year of the World Design Capital Frankfurt RheinMain 2026 and thus to an updated perspective on the New Frankfurt as well as other national and international design movements, which have always led to changed social models.
