The program of the regional feature film competition of the 18th LICHTER Filmfest Frankfurt International has been announced - and it is stronger than ever: one world premiere, one German premiere and nine domestic premieres promise a cinematic adventure full of moving stories. The festival will open on 22 April with Mehmet Akif Büyükatalay's conspiracy thriller "Hys-teria" in the new festival center MASSIF E.
Until 27 April, the former E-KINOS will become a center for film culture with an international program on the theme of "Fear", film highlights from Germany, VR films, the AI competition "Future Fra-mes" and contemporary video art. The 5th "Future of German Film" congress (April 23-25) will once again bring renowned film industry personalities to Frankfurt.
Film celebrities include Lars Eidinger, who will be DJing at the LICHTER party at MASSIF E on the Friday of the festival, and Lilith Stangenberg, who will be giving a concert on the Wednesday of the festival together with Brezel Göring & Psychoanalyse.
