The exhibition Aufbruch und Wandel - Das Neue Frankfurt und die Gegenwart (AT) at the Deutsches Architekturmuseum highlights the innovative urban and housing development programme of the New Frankfurt using the example of Römerstadt and links it with selected current urban development projects in Germany.
By placing the urban and architectural example of Römerstadt in relation to current planning in various German cities, the exhibition will combine historical experiences with current requirements and expectations of successful urban districts. The aim is to raise awareness of the diverse ecological (climate-friendly city, CO2 footprint, transport infrastructure), social (demographic mix, offers for different housing needs, public space, social infrastructure) and economic (land issues, project developers and sponsors, construction costs) aspects of urban development today. Last but not least, innovative, current examples of residential building design will also be presented.
