The city tour by bike through Frankfurt starts in the apple wine district of Frankfurt-Sachsenhausen. Cycle to the southern bank of the Main, the Museumsufer, which is home to many renowned museums such as the Städel, the Museum of Communication and the Film Museum. The tour continues over the Holbeinsteg to the other side of the Main and into Frankfurt's old town, to the Römer town hall, St Paul's Church and the imperial cathedral.
From there, the tour leads past Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's birthplace through the "Wallanlagen", a medieval fortification that today forms a green ring around Frankfurt's city centre past the Alte Oper opera house and on to the east of the city. At the European Central Bank with the former wholesale market hall, the route returns to the banks of the Main and over a bridge back to the apple wine quarter.
