Concert
In its new programme "Half of me", the Bridges Chamber Orchestra focuses on questions of identity.

The title-giving commissioned work "Half of me" by composer Atefeh Einali is set in the context of her personal life situation, current social events and the resulting inner turmoil: one half of the composer is in her home country, the other in the country to which she has migrated. The programme also features compositions and arrangements by orchestra members Peter Klohmann, Salim Salari, Andrés Rosales and many others, including numerous world premieres.

The Bridges Chamber Orchestra will be playing with conductor Farhad Garayusifli for the first time. Trained at the Baku Music Academy and the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf, Farhad Garayusifli was assistant conductor at the Berlin Opera Academy, assistant to Nabil Shehata at the Philharmonie Südwestfalen and chief conductor of the Baku Radio Symphony Orchestra. He also has a wide range of expertise in crossover music, classical European music, traditional Azerbaijani music and jazz.

The Bridges Chamber Orchestra brings together musicians with their instruments from different regions of the world. The orchestra members are experts in Arabic, Persian and European classical music, jazz, contemporary music, Eastern European folklore and various forms of Central Asian and Latin American music. Based on their diverse personalities, the musicians compose and arrange their pieces themselves. The result is transcultural music.

The concert is supported by the Crespo Foundation, the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media and the Kulturfonds Frankfurt RheinMain.
