There's a weekly market in Höchst on three mornings – and the best social meeting culture over coffee or wine.
"In the age of social media, we want to revive the social meeting culture," explains Eitel Reitz. He achieves this every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday morning: these are market days in Frankfurt's Höchst district. Since 1955, the weekly market has also included a covered market hall, where Reitz runs his market café on these mornings. A good place for many people from Höchst to start their market shopping with a coffee together; many market traders are also regular customers – and some even have their own cup in the market café.
With around 50 stalls, the Höchster Markt is Frankfurt's second largest weekly market. The other delicatessen and wine stores in the market hall are also very popular for instant enjoyment. Expressly permitted: buy a few treats together at each stall and put together your own ideal market breakfast!
