In 2025, The New Frankfurt celebrates its 100th birthday. The Museum Angewandte Kunst in Frankfurt am Main is taking this as an opportunity to dedicate a number of exhibitions to the design modernism on the Main in the 1920s. Yes, we care! The New Frankfurt and the Question of the Common Good is one of these exhibitions and is dedicated to the topic of public welfare and welfare provision - its institutions and associations, its people, concepts and initiatives during this period. At the same time, it spans the arc to today's care crisis, which is reflected not only in the debate about the unequal distribution of care work between men and women, but also in access to affordable housing and the provision of care services in urban neighbourhoods.
Care work yesterday and today: What institutions, initiatives and concepts in education, household, social affairs and health existed 100 years ago and had an impact on life? Which current approaches solve the current care crisis? The exhibition Yes, we care! presents objects, texts, photographs, film and audio contributions from the areas of education, household, social affairs and health in the 1920s and links the phenomena with current experiences and questions about our global future.
