Apple Wine Tavern
Regional Kitchen, German
A Sachsenhausen classic: people have been meeting at the Dauth-Schneider for more than 170 years for a glass of apple wine.

Clad with slate tiles on the top and patterned grey-blue like a Bembel on the bottom, the Dauth-Schneider is one of a whole series of typical Sachsenhausen Ebbelwei pubs. It is located directly on Affentorplatz, which is one of the city's lively favourite meeting places, especially in summer. The cult drink has been served here since 1850.
Today, Irish-born Paul O'Sullivan and his family provide tasty, hearty food and a great atmosphere between the benches. His regulars go for his homemade meatloaf with tomato and paprika sauce or the hearty liver dumplings on sauerkraut with mash, which are served in the parlour or outside on the cobblestones. Vegetarians can enjoy cheese spaetzle, vegan schnitzel or chilli sin carne with their drink.
