Lots of greenery, lots of glass and even more light: in the middle of the city center, you can treat yourself to a little break from the hustle and bustle of the big city.

If the urban jungle is getting too much for you, this green oasis is just what you need. Despite its central location in the city center, you can sit in a light-flooded glass house, shielded from traffic noise and the hustle and bustle, surrounded by sprawling plants. The small but exquisite menu includes international dishes for every taste, from steaks to vegan Asian vegetables with miso tofu and cream cheese ravioli.
Elaine's Greenhouse follows on from the success of Elaine's World, which includes a total of seven different gastrobars, cafés and takeaways spread across the city, which founders Luel Mulugeta and Guy L. Lamaye have been gradually opening since 2016.
The name "Elaine" goes back to their first restaurant in the Taunus Tower, which also houses a branch of the Museum of Modern Art. An exhibition by New York artist Elaine Sturtevant inspired the name of a previous restaurant, which the current owners adapted and proudly carry on.
