Frankfurt's strong trio for everyone who loves movies: Eldorado, Cinéma and Harmonie stand for excellent cinema programs – and really nice bars.

Eldorado, Harmonie and Cinéma are the names of the three arthouse cinemas in Frankfurt. A trio that even received an award from the German government in 2024 for its outstanding film program. Whether you're in the mood for European auteur films or want to watch film gems from past decades as part of the "Cinéma Nostalgica" series: The arthouse cinemas score points with a varied repertoire and exciting film series. International films are shown here in their original version and every two weeks there is a sneak preview with selected surprise films.
Each of the three cinemas has its own character  the Eldorado, for example, was the first cinema in Frankfurt to reopen after the Second World War. Founded in 1912 as the Scala-Filmtheater, the bar is popular again today for its 1920s style - and for its homemade iced tea in summer or the special drinks that are created to accompany selected films. Some of the rooms and the bar in the Harmonie have also retained their retro charm and the Cinéma bar not only serves popcorn, but also a French bistro atmosphere including macarons, homemade lemonades and quiches.
