Place Of Pilgrimage
From Frankfurt to Santiago: 15 kilometres of the famous Way of St. James wind their way through the metropolis on the Main, barrier-free and inclusive since 2021.

There are over 2,500 kilometres of pilgrimage from Frankfurt to Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain. This almost 15-kilometre section of the pilgrimage route starts at St. Leonhard's Church and leads over the old bridge past the Dreikönigskirche church to the Iron Footbridge. From there, it continues along the southern bank of the river to Schwanheimer Brücke, over the Wörthspitze and through Höchst to Justinuskirche, one of the oldest churches in Germany.
Since 2021, the entire section of the trail has been barrier-free and inclusive. Wheelchair-friendly steps are avoided, people with walking difficulties can rest on benches every 500 metres and tactile markings provide orientation for the blind. There is also a pilgrim's book in simple language and sign language translations. Pilgrims with and without disabilities can get information quickly and easily using the free USEEUM Pilgrimage Trail app.
