Special Museum
Camera technology, cult props, cinematic tricks: the German Film Museum offers you a look behind the scenes of film production and shows selected scenes.

Are you a drama queen? Or more of a romantic? Or even a horror fan? Cineastes and lovers of all film genres get their money's worth at the German Film Museum. The collection in the historic villa on Schaumainkai presents not only technical equipment that shows the development of cameras and film, but also countless moving images - from silent films to key scenes from well-known classics. Fan highlights include special exhibits such as Maximilian Schell's Oscar trophy and the famous "Alien" costume by artist and film designer HR Giger. Many interactive stations involve you in the world of film during your visit: try out how you would look on camera in front of the green screen, for example! And of course, the museum also has its own cinema with a varied programme.
