City District

This square has the feel of a cozy outdoor living room. During the day, you can enjoy ice cream or coffee here under the plane tree, while various bars open in the evening.

Local media have dubbed it "Frankfurt's hippest square". The triangular Fischerplätzchen owes this to its location: it lies directly between the banks of the Main and the lower end of Fahrgasse, which has made a name for itself as Frankfurt's art mile with its galleries. It is only a few minutes' walk from the New Old Town and the sights in the city center.
During the day, people sit down with an ice cream from Pallina or a coffee from the Holy Cross Brewing Society (both at Fahrgasse 7) under the large plane tree on the square, while in the evening the chairs of the bars fill up all around, serving craft beers and burgers, bistro dishes and pizza. The 50s architecture in particular can be found on Fischerplätzchen and in Fahrgasse; the comparatively small houses and stores are a particularly cozy place to store and enjoy.
