The concentration camp in the centre of the city: the Katzbach concentration camp is commemorated at the Adlerwerke in Frankfurt.
Between August 1944 and March 1945, the ‘Katzbach’ subcamp was located in the Adler factories in Frankfurt. 1,616 people were forced to work there under terrible conditions, most of whom did not survive the end of the war. Like other companies, Adlerwerke also employed prisoners of war and foreign civilian workers in the forced labour system.
The Adlerwerke history centre sees itself as a living place of learning. In addition to the permanent exhibition, which has been specially adapted to the needs of young people, it also offers workshops for schools and handouts for teachers.
