At the same time, the Kleinmarkthalle is also an original Frankfurt institution, despite its cosmopolitan flair. It went into operation at the end of the 19th century, when it was a neo-Renaissance building that fell victim to wartime bombs in 1944. Reconstruction began ten years later and for many Frankfurters today, the clinker brick building is not just a place to shop, but above all a place to talk, eat and drink.
