Special Museum
The permanent exhibition comprises three large sections: the "Municipal Collection", the "Bechtold Foundation" and "Highest Quality and Baroque Decoration". The Althöchster reproductions in "Passau Porcelain" are exhibited in the Bolongaro Palace.

In the aristocratic palace built by Franz von Kronberg between 1577 and 1580 and also named after him, the historisches museum frankfurt has been presenting around 1,800 Höchst faiences and porcelains since 1994. These pieces are mainly from the Rococo and Classicist periods and vividly trace the history of the porcelain manufactory founded in 1746. The exhibition offers a comprehensive overview of the large number of Höchst moulds, decorations and figures. Particularly noteworthy among the figures are those by the famous sculptor Johann Peter Melchior, who completed the transition from Rococo to Classicism in Höchst in the 18th century.
