Rich in tradition, Schauspiel Frankfurt is the largest spoken theatre in the Rhine-Main region and, as a nationally renowned stage, is also highly regarded throughout Germany. Anselm Weber has been the theatre's director since the 2017/18 season.
At the four venues - Schauspielhaus, Kammerspiele, Box and Bockenheimer Depot - renowned directors such as Jan Bosse, Felicitas Brucker, Barbara Bürk, Jan-Christoph Gockel, Mateja Koležnik, Claudia Bauer, Nuran David Calis and Johanna Wehner bring both classics and contemporary drama to the stage.
In addition to its productions, Schauspiel Frankfurt creates venues for encounters, discussions and work shows in the BOX, the Panorama Bar and the Chagallsaal, where artists present themselves, audience members ask questions and citizens of the city engage in dialogue.
