Animal Park
Giraffes in front of the skyline, a jungle atmosphere and the largest nocturnal animal house in Europe: 5,400 animals live in Germany's second oldest zoo in Ostend.

Giraffes and tigers in Frankfurt's Ostend, giraffes with a view of the Frankfurt skyline - you can see it all at Frankfurt Zoo. More than 5,400 animals from over 470 species live here. Germany's second oldest zoo offers exciting animal observations in open-air enclosures and large animal houses and is always worth a visit, even in rainy weather. From azure-headed tanagers to zebras, you can discover the whole diversity of the animal world on a tour. A highlight is the Grzimek House, the largest nocturnal animal house in Europe. Here, day turns into night so that you can experience nocturnal animals in their waking phases. In the exotarium, you can admire rare treasures in many colourful aquariums and terrariums and in the Borgori Forest ape house you can observe gorillas and bonobos in a real jungle atmosphere. Regularly commented feedings, guided tours, lectures and events provide deep insights into the animal kingdom and the nature and species conservation work of the zoo, which is also easy to reach by public transport.
