With a Frankfurt speciality plate, you get a particularly beautiful view of the castle and the half-timbered houses of Höchst all around.
Fancy a little trip into history? Then you should take a look around outside the door before entering this restaurant. The restaurant is housed in one of the historic half-timbered houses around Höchster Schlossplatz. Höchster Castle with its Gothic tower is also located a short distance to the right, the old customs gate and its associated tower on the River Main are opposite and proud town houses from the 16th to 18th centuries are lined up in between.
Sitting down at one of the tables at the "Zum Bären" pub on Höchster Schlossplatz means you can savour the food and enjoy the historic panorama at the same time. While classics such as tarte flambée, schnitzel or the "Frankfurt speciality plate" with hand cheese, green sauce and eggs, sauerkraut, ribs and potatoes are served all year round, there are also seasonal specialities, for example elk steaks or wild boar legs in the cold season, accompanied by selected wines from Rheinhessen, the Rheingau and the Hessian Bergstrasse.
And if you feel like taking a walk after your meal, you can stroll to the Carolingian Justinus Church, which is just around the corner. Built in 830, it is the oldest surviving building in Frankfurt. Just a place with history.
