Top chef Mario Lohninger has fulfilled his dream on the banks of the River Main: Home and world cuisine in one place - and gluten-free too.
Austrian chef Mario Lohninger is one of the biggest names in top gastronomy. He has already cooked in Silicon Valley, New York and the Thai royal court - and finally opened his own restaurant on the banks of the River Main in Sachsenhausen in 2010. The location was a stroke of luck: on the ground floor of an old villa, the open and elegantly designed "Lohninger" presents itself as a friendly family business. His parents Paul and Erika are also involved - after all, a love of gastronomy runs in the family. Even as a young boy, Mario Lohninger helped out in his parents' restaurant in Leogang. The Lohninger honours its Austrian roots accordingly, while at the same time the chef focuses on cosmopolitanism - and gluten-free dishes.
The menu is divided into the chapters "Home" and " World", and it's not just Kaiserschmarrn and Wiener Schnitzel that win over critics and foodies, but also the grilled miso salmon or the Neapolitan spaghetti. Whether Austria or the world: you don't have to choose, but can combine your menu freely.
